Fulton's Thomas Makes TnVarsity's Top 20




TnVarsity.com Class of 2011 Tennessee Top 20:


1. Antonio Richardson (6'6 320)-DT Ensworth- Massive defensive tackle sat out this past season after a transfer from Mt. Pleasant. Expect an immediate impact next season as he will be one of the more dominant linemen in the South.

2. Jabriel Washington (6'1 170)-ATH Jackson Trinity Christian-All State selection is a threat on the ground and in the air. He also shows big league prowess as a defensive back. SEC and Big 12 schools are all over this kid. Had over 1,000 passing over 700 rushing and 80+ tackles.

3. Terry Redden (6'1 280) -DT Memphis Whitehaven- All Region selection stood out on a team loaded with D-1 talent. Has been a standout on the camp circuit and is the next star at Whitehaven. Wants to be the best.

4. Aaron Bryant (5'11 190)-LB Nashville Hillsboro. Star of the state championship game against Maryville. Look for him to become the star next year for Hillsboro with the departure of Eric Gordon.

5. Devrin Young ( 5'7 160)-RB/CB Knoxville Bearden- All State selection and Prep Extra Sophomore of the year, Young exploded onto the scene this season with a breakout 1st season on the varsity level. SEC and Pac-10 schools have shown interest. Amassed over 2,000 all purpose yards and 21 TD’s.

6. Christian Coleman (6'4 250)-TE Milan-All State selection excels on both sides of the ball. Early interest from Pac-10 and Big 10 schools. Showed big time athletic ability in the state championship game against Alcoa.

7. Tanner Owen (6'6 270)-OL Cheatham County-Helped pace his team to average 170 yards per game on the ground. Has excellent size, good feet.

8. Artaves Gibson (6'2 220)-RB Memphis Mitchell- All State selection rushed for over 1,700 yards this past season for the Tigers. Physically back, who can still take it the distance from anywhere on the field.

9. Chris Sensabaugh (5'11 190)-RB/LB Kingsport DB- Burst onto the scene as a frosh and continued to impress as a sophomore with over 1,100 yards rushing. Future at the next level may be at linebacker. Named 2nd team All Region.

10. Jake Overby (6'0 175)-QB USJ- All State Selection passed for over 3,000 and 29 TD’s. Led the state of Tennessee in passing yards.

11. Jeremiah Bryson (5'8 170)-RB/DB Smyrna- Showed he is a premier player in the state as a freshman rushing for over 1,000 yards. Teams keyed on him all season as a sophomore but he still rushed for over 800yards, but suffered from several nagging injuries. Future may be at DB on the next level.

12. Tyler Rice (6'4 185)-QB Wayne County- All State selection is also a big time basketball prospect. Has great bloodlines, size and passed for over 1,400 yards this past season. Has all the moxie you look for in a signal caller.

13. Deon Meadows (6'0 200)-FB/LB Smyrna- Registered over 120+ tackles on the season from his linebacker position. Has great instincts and makes plays all over the field.

14. Taharin Tyson-FB/LB Alcoa- All State selection was part of a running back by committee for state champion Alcoa. Has a powerful low center of gravity and runs behind his pads well. Could play fullback or linebacker in college.

15. Victor Caro (5'7 160)-RB Brentwood Academy- Sophomore standout rushed for over 1,200 yards. The star of a great nucleus of sophomores for the Eagles.

16. Eric McCollough (5'1 185)-FB/LB Chatt Howard- Registered over 70 tackles and rushed for over 500 yards on the season. A headhunter who likes to make the big hit.

17. Justin Williams (5'9 180)-RB Davidson County- All State selection and Mr. Football finalist lead the nation in rushing off and on this season as he rushed for over 2,800 yards and 39 TD’s. Led team to a state title. Has great vision and cutback ability.

18. Demetrius Thomas (5'10 180)-RB Knoxville Fulton- Powerful and fluid back did not start until the 3rd game of the season. Rushed for over 700 yards for a very young Fulton team. Style is reminiscent of former Tennessee Vol Reggie Cobb. Comes from a very athletic family.

19. Tavaris Shegog (5'7 220)-LB Memphis Washington- Had 15 sacks and 50+ tackles from his linebacker position

20. Jarrod Coleman (6'2 190)-QB McCallie- Played as a backup as a freshman and again this season behind a junior QB, however all the intangibles are there. McCallie implements a Tim Tebow type package when he enters the game. May not start again next season, but will play a lot.
